Cecilia | North Cheyenne Canon Senior Photos
colorado springs, co
Taking Cecilia’s senior photos was such a joy! From the moment we met it was clear that she carries a really special mix of beauty, curiosity, and depth. She’s thoughtful, kind, and has a calm confidence about her that makes you want to slow down and really pay attention. Photographing seniors like Cecilia is one of my favorite parts of what I do, because this season of life is so full of possibility — and she embodies that so beautifully.
Cecilia is a senior at Sand Creek High School, where she’s been very involved in the cheerleading program. You can tell that being part of a team has helped form her— she shows up with discipline, encouragement, and genuine care for the people around her. She carries both strength and softness that feels so true to who she is. Watching her step with such confidence into her final year of high school was really special to be a part of.

presence > poses
One of the things I loved most about photographing Cecilia was her joy and presence. She was totally game to roll with all of my crazy ideas: "try smelling that wildflower" or "go play in the creek" or "maybe start dancing in the middle of the road!" We were just having fun moving and snapping as we went along.
When seniors feel comfortable enough to just be themselves in front of the camera, the photos turn out so much more fun. And the experience feels way more natural and less stressed overall (which is always the goal!).

why north cheyenne canon is perfect for senior photos
Whenever seniors ask for recommendations for where to go for senior photos, North Cheyenne Canon is almost always one of my first suggestions. I love it for so many reasons:
- Tons of variety of scenery: There's waterfalls, rivers, bridges, flowers, forests, roads... basically everything you could want in an outdoor session.
- Big enough to feel isolated: Some places in Colorado Springs get so packed with tourists that it's hard to find space to get good shots. North Cheyenne Canon has enough space, hiking trails, and forest that you can almost always find somewhere without other people.
- It's beauty changes starkly with the seasons: Some places in town look just about the same regardless of the season. Not so with North Cheyenne Canon. The leaves and flowers take on beautiful color depending on the time of year, and even in winter the creek takes on the beauty of the cold and gives a whole new vibe.

Cheering you on!
As we talked during our time together, Cecilia mentioned that she hopes to go to school to become a teacher. I could TOTALLY see that happening for her. She has such a gentle, encouraging presence — the kind that makes people feel seen and supported. I have no doubt that wherever her path leads, she will go far. Not just because she’s capable, but because she carries herself with intention and heart.
Senior photos aren’t just about documenting what someone looks like at this age — they’re about honoring who they are in this moment and where they have been. This season passes quickly, and having images that reflect it honestly is such a gift — for both the senior and the people who love them.
Cecilia, thank you so much for trusting me to capture this special chapter of your life. It was an honor to photograph you and to witness this exciting season you’re in. I’m cheering you on as you finish out your senior year and step into what’s next — wherever that may lead. 🤍
