Adoption is a journey, and often a long one, for all parties involved. It's one of the most substantial decisions a family ever makes, and it changes a family dynamic forever.
Adoption is also costly, and while I may not be able to do much to change that, I can offer my photography services at no charge to adoptive families as a way of supporting them in their journeys.
If you are either in the process of adopting and needing photos for your portfolio OR if you have recently finalized an adoption and would like family photos, please reach out to me with the name of the agency you are working with for a FREE mini session (30 minutes). No strings attached. Just my way of cheering you on.
I've heard it said that adoption is like a birth, a wedding, and a funeral all at once: a birth in that there is a new child, a wedding in that two families are now bound together for all of time by that child, and a funeral in that one family is having to say goodbye to their child in many ways as that child starts life in a new family. We commemorate births, weddings, and funerals with photos: why wouldn't we do the same for adoption, which is just as substantial as any of these other major life events?

FAQ
Where are you based and do you travel?
I'm based in Colorado Springs, CO and am more than happy to travel! However, for the free adoptive family mini sessions, any session outside of the Colorado Springs/Monument area will incur a $50 travel fee.
How long does it take to get our photos?
Your will receive an online gallery link with a preview of your photos within 48 hours, and then will receive all your photos within 3-4 weeks (often sooner depending on the season). You will be able to download your photos directly and order prints from this link as well.
Can I use the free session both for an adoption portfolio and then family photos later on?
I limit the free adoptive family mini sessions to one per household; you are free to choose how you would like to use the mini session, whether for portfolio photos or family photos once an adoption is finalized.
Do you offer albums or prints?
I've found that most families prefer to put together their own albums after the fact, and as a result I do not offer albums or prints. You'll be able to download any and every image from your digital gallery and print as many as you'd like.
Is the adoptive family mini session actually free?
Yep. Totally and completely free (unless you are outside of the Colorado Springs/Monument area, in which case I charge a $50 travel fee). I long to adopt in the future, I understand how expensive and trying the process can be, and I really just want to come alongside you and give you the gift of free photos as you go through your journey. I mean it when I say no strings attached.
